Talented music artiste popularly known as Simi is gradually becoming a force to reckon with. From “Ara Ile” (2008) to “Take a Chance” (2012), “E No Go Funny” (2014) to “Jamb Question” (2015), Simi keeps getting better.
Upon the release of a single titled “Jamb Question” which later featured Falz in the remix, Simi was listed as one of the artistes to watch out for in 2016 by NotJustOk.
Jamb Question went on to be nominated in the “Best Music Video” category at the 2015 edition of The Headies.
Simi, who started her career as a gospel singer, hit the airwaves with yet another hit singles, “Love Don’t Care” in 2016 with a powerful message to parents and guardians who are well pleased in choosing partner for their child.
Her newest hit single, ‘Love Don’t Care’ brings to bare the fact that parents should allow their children marry whom they truly love.
Like in Latin it is said that Amo Vinci omnia which means love conquers all, tribe, profession and its likes should not be major factors that could hinder two love birds as it were.
This message is deep and the video says it all. The choreography, the background and most importantly her sonorous voice makes the song a delight. All we wish her is that she should not rest on her oars in ensuring that she continues to sing inspiring songs that will stand the test of time.
On January 9, 2014, Simi released two singles titled “Tiff” and “E No Go Funny”, with the former receiving massive airplay and accepted generally among music critics.
The song went on to be nominated in the “Best Alternative Song” category at the 2015 edition of The Headies.
In 2015, Simi won the “Most Promising Act to Watch” category at the 2015 Nigeria Entertainment Awards.
