The rumours and guesses would be over this evening (September 7, 2016) when Apple’s Tim Cook takes to the stage of the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium to reveal the company’s new generation smartphone.
Two products are expected to hit the market: two new iPhones, the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus, as well as the Apple Watch 2.
According to UK’s Telegraph, new iPhone 7 is speculated to have the following features:
- iPhone 7 that has a 4.7-inch screen with no headphone jack, a better camera and a pressure-sensitive home button
- iPhone 7 Plus that has a 5.5-inch screen with a dual-lens camera, no headphone jack and a pressure-sensitive home button
- Apple Watch 2 with GPS connectivity, a faster processor and a better battery
- Smart Connector – the iPhone 7 Plus could borrow the Smart Connector from the iPad Pro, which would let you attach a keyboard to the phone and possibly charge it as well
Smartphone case-maker Cygnett was reported to have posted a selection of iPhone 7 and 7 Plus cases on its Australian website.
“From the information we have received, we are expecting the new iPhone 7 and 7 Plus designs to have no headphone jack, with the likelihood of two speakers for improved sound quality.
“The design of our cases show a larger hole, slightly higher up in the iPhone 7 Plus as we are expecting a larger, more protruded camera area which possibly leads to signs of an improved lens or dual lens functionality,” Tim Swann, founder of Cygnett, said
Reports say the designs posted by the Cygnett appear to confirm speculations of a bigger camera closer to the top right hand side of the phone, and no headphone jack.
