Ile-Ife Yoruba-Hausa clash: Aregbesola imposes curfew
Osun State Governor, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola, has imposed 6pm to 7am curfew on the ancient city of Ile Ife after a clash between Hausa and Yoruba.
The clash, which started late yesterday night according to a resident of Sabo area has left more than 10 people dead and many other injured.
The curfew, which was announced on the Osun State Broadcasting Corporation (OSBC) on Wednesday evening, is aimed at preventing hoodlums from using the clash to perpetrate more evils.
The clash which started on Tuesday night March 7 through March 8, 2017 left several vehicles burnt, while houses and shops were set ablaze.
“It is as a result of a dispute between a Hausa man and a Yoruba woman on Tuesday evening,” a Sabo-resident in the city told infobase on phone.
