Yemi Osinbajo to continue as Acting President-Buhari says

Professor Yemi Osinbajo continues as Acting President despite the return of President Muhammadu Buhari to Nigeria Friday, March 10, 2017.

“Came back towards the weekend, so that the vice president will continue and I will continue to rest.”

The president had been away on medical leave for almost 50 days.

Buhari upon return to Aso Rock told Federal Executive Council that he would not resume power immediately, instead leave his deputy would be in charge.

Report say a Nigerian Air Force jet carrying the Mr. President landed at the airport in Kaduna International Airport at exactly 7:47 am before he was flown by helicopter to Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Acting president Yemi Osinbajo was the highest political office holders to welcome the former military ruler.

Osinbajo says he’s pleased to welcome his boss.

President Buhari, who was greeted by security chiefs and senior government officials, later met with his cabinet and officials of the ruling party, APC.
