Low key wedding of Oludamilola Osinbajo and Oluseun Bakare in Aso Rock Villa, Abuja

Call it season of “WHALE” wedding, you are definitely right. It was between son and daughter of Oyo and Kano state governors, then Aliko Dangote’s daughter.

Yesterday, a low key traditional engagement of the vice president’s daughter Oludamilola Osinbajo to Oluseun Bakare held Thursday, March 15, 2018 at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo had on 2018 Valentine’s day (February 14) took to twitter to announce the betrothal of Oludamilola to Oluseun, and fixing the wedding for March 15 and 17.

While Oludamilola prides herself as the daughter of Nigeria’s No.2 citizen, her man, Oluseun Bakare is the son of a businesswoman and socialite.

Osinbajo had affirmed that the wedding would be low key, which thousands of Nigerians wrong that it would be another influential money-splashing union like Nigerians saw recently in Nano where son of a governor and a daughter of another governor tied the knot.

Even as low key as it is, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, John Odigie-Oyegun, found time to send congratulatory message to bride’s dad Mr. Osibanjo.

Mr. Odigie-Oyegun’s message was conveyed in a personal letter to the Vice President.

The letter reads: “My wife, Victoria and I, extend very hearty congratulations to you and your wife, Her Excellency, Dolapo Osinbajo, on the joyful news of the wedding of your daughter Oluwadamilola to Oluseun Bakare.

“We wish the young couple the very best blessings of married life.

“As proud parents of Oluwadamilola, we wish to celebrate and credit you for such a wonderful and Christian upbringing that produced such an amazing bride.

“May the good Lord continue to lead your way and bless your family.”

The Cable had quoted a family source as saying, “Left to the VP and his wife, it would have been the smallest and simplest of ceremonies, taking place in their backyard, especially given the current mood of the nation.

“Nonetheless the VP seems to be swiming against a rather strong tide. For instance the VP’s position compels him to inform and invite dignitaries, many of who will cry blue murder if left out of the invitations.

“But for a man known for his unassuming nature and humble mien, these circumstances have invited the dilemma of how to moderate the occasion and balance out the wedding outlook considering the current mood of the nation,” the source said.

It was learnt that the Vice President planned having the whole ceremony, except the church service, done within the state house.

The bride, Damilola will on Saturday, March 17, 2018, tie the knot with Oluseun Bakare, a pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God and son of Bola Shagaya, a businesswoman and celebrity.

We wish the couple happy married life
