One of the world’s greatest living football legend Luiz Figo is the newest star in the world of Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs) promotion.

“When I heard about Football-Stars for the first time I immediately liked the idea. Football becomes more and more data driven with detailed statistics about all aspects of the game – this is what Stryking’s platform utilizes to create a compelling fan experience.

“I am happy to support the experienced team at Stryking and spread the word about their platform that allows fans to engage with the teams and players they are backing,” the excited former Real Madrid star said.

The Portuguese footballer has signed on to serve as brand ambassador for Stryking Entertainment, whose platform, Football-Stars, seeks to tokenize fantasy sports.

The new product, STRYKZ token, will be promoted and distributed by Figo. Details are still sketchy, but we hope that details will be issued by the company in the days ahead.

Born Luís Filipe Madeira Caeiro Figo in 4 November 1972) was a midfielder for Sporting CP, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Internazionale before retiring on 31 May 2009.

Only Cristiano Ronaldo has been able to brake his 127 caps for the Portugal national team, but he still remains a voice in world football.

His credibility still carries weight in product promotion, which is one of the reasons new ICOs went for him.

During his playing years, Figo was known for his creativity and ability to get past defenders as a winger, we hope to see him boost the new ICO at a time cryptocurrency is battling with growth.

Figo won the 2000 Ballon d’Or , 2001 FIFA World Player of the Year , and in 2004 Pelé named him in the FIFA 100 list of the world’s greatest living players.

Is he the only celeb to endorse ICOs?

Figo isn’t the only celebrities to endorse ICOs, Manny Pacquiao is another star who has endorsed and promoting ICOs.

Also, retired English football star Michael Owen signed on to promote GCOX , a Singapore-based ICO whose system will allow celebrities to create their own cryptocurrencies which fans can use to pay for exclusive content hosted on the platform.

Another famous football star, Luis Suarez, promoted prediction market Stox’s ICO August, 2017, and was later joined by boxing legend Floyd Mayweather.

Recently, ICOs have raised more questions of fraud controversy than its promotion, which prompted tech and social media giants like Google, Facebook, and Twitter to issue statement about their stand on ICOs and cryptocurrency advertisements.

It’d be recalled that the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) charged the founders of Centra Tech, whose token sale Mayweather had promoted on social media, with fraud.

Similarly, the SEC charged AriseBank , whose ICO had been endorsed by fellow retired boxing star Evander Holyfield, with selling its token through fraudulent means.

The cryptocurrency trading is volatile and investors are advised never to put their life savings into it.
