Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has lost another prominent member Mr. Adejare Bello, a former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, to the opposition in the state.
Report says the former lawmaker resigned his membership of PDP Monday afternoon, The Punch says.
He is from Ede, the hometown of the governorship candidate of the PDP, Senator Ademola Adeleke.
Adejare Bello didn’t say which political party he was joining. There are two major alternatives for him:Social Democratic Party (SDP) or All Progressive Congress (APC).
Sources close to the former speaker said he’s likely to join the the ruling party, APC.
The Punch quoted APC Director of Publicity, Research and Strategy in Osun, Mr Kunle Oyatomi, as saying that Adejare Bello had joined APC.
Bello was the running mate of Senator Iyiola Omisore under PDP in the 2014 governorship election in the state.
Recently, Adejare Bello publicly disagree with Omisore, the governorship candidate of Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the September 22, 2018 election, over which senatorial district in the state to produce the next governor of the state.
Which party will Adejare Bello join: APC or SDP?
APC claimed that Bello he’s going to join APC, but he hasn’t publicly declare which party he’s joining.
Considering his public disagreement with Omisore, Bello may not join SDP, but nothing is impossible in Nigerian politics.
Nigerian politicians are unpredictable, but the internal crisis within PDP may be an advantage for the APC, a party greatly hated by the state’s civil servants.
