Politicians have been trying to bring the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, into political dynamics of Lagos State.
It was alleged that the Nigeria’s most influential man of God had a telephone conversation with the Chief Decider of Lagos politics, Bola Tinubu, appealing to allow the incumbent governor Mr. Akinwumi Ambode run for second term.
Pastor Adeboye denied having a telephone conversation with Bola Tinubu.
“Adeboye has not and would not be involved in inter /intraparty politics in Nigeria and anywhere RCCG is present across the world,” an update on his social media handles said.
He however urged Nigerians to get their Permanent Voter Cards and exercise their civic duty.
“Pastor E.A Adeboye advises all well-meaning Nigerians just like him to get their PVCs and exercise their civic duty.”
Just the way Babatunde Fashola had issue with Tinubu while declaring his second term ambition as the governor of Lagos State in 2010/2011, Ambode is facing the same problem with Tinubu.
This time, it’s obvious that Ambode is facing more threat from within as another APC member Mr. Babajide Sanwoolu said he has gotten the endorsement of Tinubu.
Why are they bringing Pastor Adeboye into the picture?
He’s a powerful man of God, respected by other men of God and politicians. Former presidents in Nigeria and other countries across the world had knelt before him to receive blessing.
He’s influential beyond man’s comprehension, and he usually returns the glory to God.
He may not want to be drawn into inter /intraparty politics in Nigeria, but he wields so much power before, during and after elections in Nigeria.
Heavyweights Nigerian politicians had ran up to him in the past, seeking spiritual blessing.
It’s possible Pastor Adeboye called Tinubu or the latter did for blessing, infomediaNG believes that someone within the political circle in Lagos gave a noticeable coloration to their alleged conversation.
