What Beneficiaries Need to Know About N-Power Enhancement Program
When the Social Intervention Programme of the Federal Government announced that its 2016 batch would be migrated to an Enhancement Programme some people didn’t understand the concept. In this guide we’ll tell you how N-Power enhancement programme will look like.
What is enhancement programme in relation to N-Power?
An enhancement to N-Power will make beneficiaries perform better in their Places of Primary Assignments.
The noun enhancement comes from the verb enhance, meaning “to increase or improve,” and it can describe anything that’s an improvement to the quality or value of something.”
So N-Power Enhancement Programme is meant to improve the value, quality of the 2016 beneficiaries in such a way that they will make greater significant contribution to Nigerian economy while making themselves self-sufficient.
“The programme will be expanded, enriched, made bigger and better and we will improve the welfare of those in the programme,” Guardian Newspapers quoted Vice President Yemi Osinbajo as saying during a visit to Kiara De-Luke Multi-Skill and Entrepreneurship Centre, an N-Power training centre at Umuobiakwa in Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia.
Here are the areas the N-Power enhancement programme will be centred on:
- Education (for the N-Teach beneficiaries)
- Agriculture (N-Agro volunteers)
- Health (for N-Health beneficiaries)
This means that the 2016 beneficiaries should be expecting something like:
- Education Enhancement Program (for the teachers)
- Health Enhancement Programme
- Agriculture Enhancement Programme
In the N-Teach you could have teachers’ enhancement programme. This is what educationendowmentfoundation.org.uk called Teacher Effectiveness Enhancement Programme (TEEP) which is targeted at improving N-Teachers’ classroom practice.
The same applies to other categories of the programme.
When will N-Power enhancement programme commence?
The official kickoff date for the programme hasn’t been released by the government, but it did say that the package will gladdens the hearts of the 2016 beneficiaries, saying the enhancement plan is a “multi-sector, multilayered and multi-pronged.”
“Indeed your dreams for a bigger and greater contribution to ENHANCE yourselves and your families lie at the heart of the next BIG PLAN for our 2016 N-Power Beneficiaries.
2016 Beneficiaries will proceed into an enhancement programme as you continue to give of your service and earn your monthly stipends,” N-Power had said in an official statement.
In the meantime, the Economic Adviser to Atiku Campaign Organisation, Mustapha Chike-Obi, said Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is likely to scrap N-Power.
