Recruitment into the position of Nigeria Police Constable by Police Service Commission (PSC) had received 21,878 applications within 120 hours of opening the recruitment portal, InfomediaNG gathered a few minutes ago.
There are just 10, 000 vacancies and the number of applications have exceeded the number within five days in registration expected to end on January 11, 2019.
Head of Press and Public Relations of PSC, Mr Ikechukwu Ani, in a statement Tuesday in Abuja, said that the applications hit the 21,878 mark at 12.30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Online is still ongoing on the official registration portal at nigeria police careers.
“The portal is expected to close on Jan. 11, 2019 in line with the Federal Character requirement of six weeks,” he said.
According to Ani, out of the 21,878 applications already received, 20,217 applicants were males while 1,661 were females.

Niger, according to Ani, had the highest number of applications, see the figures below:
- Niger State: 2, 276
- Katsina: 1, 677,
- Kano: I, 577
- Bauchi: 1,543.
The spokesman said that Bayelsa had the lowest applications of 55, Ebonyi, 88; Anambra, 107; Lagos, 112; Abia, 130; Imo, 133; Delta, 150 and Enugu, 167.
He promised that the recruitment would be transparent.
