Rivers INEC office set ablaze less than 19 days to General Elections

The office of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Rivers State has reportedly been set on fire by suspected political thugs.
Reports from the state said no one has been arrested at the time of filing this report, but police authority said investigation has commenced.
The state residents believe the attack on the INEC office is a ploy by some disgruntled politicians to ensure the elections in the state are postponed.

Rivers is one of the flash points for electoral violence.
This isn’t the first time INEC office would be set ablaze, on December 4, 2015 INEC office Dekina, the local government of Governor Idris Wada, was burnt.
The office was set ablaze by some youths, who invaded the community ahead of the supplementary polls scheduled for Saturday December 5.
