President Muhammadu Buhari led government has spoken on the next N-Power 2019 recruitment even as 500, 000 Nigerians are under the Federal Government payroll under the graduate programme.
In 2016 when the programme kicked started officially, 200, 000 graduates made the first batch, while another 300, 000 more were added in 2017 which is known as the second batch.
The 500, 000 youths are apart from others under the non-graduate programme under the N-Build, N-Software etc
Speaking on behalf of the Federal Government on February 20, 2019, in a fully transcribed version of Facebook Live Chat, the National Coordinator of N-Power and a Presidential aide, Mr Afolabi Imoukhuede said the APC-led government has it on top of its agenda to employ more Nigerians into the youth employment programme.
He said the reopening of N-Power application portal is tied to the successful reelection of President Buhari, who is seeking a second term in the February 23, 2019, Presidential election.
Buhari’s main challenger in the election is Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP).
“Portal re-opening is also tied to continuity, “the next level”. If you want the portal re-open go out on Saturday and vote massively for President Buhari,” Mr Imoukhuede said.
Imoukhuede also spoke N-Power Creative and Software, “Please give us time till after the elections. We need some approval from the Federal executive council.”
