The Federal Government has begun the distribution of N-Power T-shirts to its volunteers across the 36 states of the federation including the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
This was made known on February 20, 2019, by Presidential aide on Job Creation and the National Coordinator of N-Power Scheme, Mr Afolabi Imoukhuede while addressing N-Power issues in a Facebook Live Chat.
According to him who also spoke about the next recruitment for N-Power in 2019, President Muhammadu Buhari has approved funds for the production of N-Power T-Shirts for volunteers.
Under the graduate programme alone, N-Power which is one of the cardinal units under the Social Investment Programme (SIP) has 500, 000 young Nigerians receiving N30, 000 as a monthly stipend.
According to Mr Imoukhuede N-Power T-Shirts aren’t political ones which some beneficiaries volunteered to make for themselves.
“We have N-Power T-Shirts available for every one of you. I am not talking about the political t-shirts that some of you made. There is a T-shirt that is N-Power and the Nigerian coat of arms.
Why N-Power T-Shirts haven’t gotten to your state?
At the time of compiling this report, some volunteers have collected their shirts and have chosen a specific day when they wear to their places of primary of assignments, “But because of production challenge, it is coming in batches and they are been housed in all the geopolitical zones,” he said.
He said further, “In some states, we have shared to as many of you. The goal is to have an N-Power Day.
According to the National Coordinator, a special day would be selected for beneficiaries to put on their shirts.
“We will be declaring a day in the week, that will be called the N-Power day where you will wear your t shirt to your PPA just like NYSC CDS.
“Please note, this is not tied to election. The goal is to have a weekly N-Power Day.”
How much are N-Power T-Shirts?
According to Imoukhuede, the t-shirts are free, they’ve been paid for by the APC-led government.
“ These T-shirts are free, don’t buy and please report anyone who sells N-Power T-shirts to you.
Tell us if the N-Power T-Shirt distribution has gotten to your state.
