- Jubilation among N-Power volunteers as they receive bank alert for Feb 2019
The Federal Government of Nigeria has begun the payment of the N-Power February salary to its 500, 000 employees under its graduate programme.
This was made known to InfomediaNG a few minutes ago by one of the beneficiaries of the programme who called one of out team members to confirm the payment.
A beneficiary who resides in Osun State, South West Nigeria, told us that she uses GT Bank. She confirmed that she is one of the 2016 batch of the programme.
It would be recalled that N-Power has assured beneficiaries that their February stipend would start rolling in “any moment from now” when they asked the question on the social media platforms of the job initiative programme.
We also told you in our earlier report that your February 2019 stipend would be paid.
What caused the long delay in the Payment for N-Power February Salary?
As you know the 2019 Presidential election has just been concluded, this may have caused the delay.
Good enough, we’ve seen thousands of beneficiaries who sent congratulatory messages to President Buhari and Osinbajo on their election victory where 2019 INEC presidential election result show that APC defeated Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of PDP.
Recalled that during his election campaign Atiku vowed to stop and eradicate N-Power if he won the February 23 Presidential election.
This kind of delay isn’t new again, in some cases, the delay could be as a result of some technical issues, this has been experienced before by the 2016 batch of the youth empowerment programme when they received their stipend late.
As you may have known, some of your colleagues are yet to be paid (a few of them) since the beginning of the programme, particularly for 2017 batch, at infomediang.com we want to believe that N-Power headquarters is doing all its best to make all outstanding (backlog payments) are resolved so that they would receive their stipends along with their colleagues who are awaiting February payment.
Above all, we want to assure you that since inception of democracy in Nigeria, this is the first youth programme where you need not know anyone.
Don’t also forget that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo earlier in the year stated that when the Buhari government is inaugurated for second term, the N-Power plans to employ more people, this is in addition to the 200,000 2016 batch who will be migrated to N-Power enhancement.
In 2017, 300, 000 volunteers were employed and are receiving N30, 000 monthly stipend.
We hope that the NEXTLEVEL of President Muhammadu Buhari and Prof. Yemi Osinbajo presidency will be a great one.
