Headcount has begun for the 2016 batch of N-Power programme nationwide, it may vary from state to state.
A source from Zamfara State told InfomediaNG that the headcount was intended to ascertain real volunteers who are punctual at their Place of Primary Assignment.
A few months ago, the APC-led government by President Muhammadu Buhari announced through the coordinator of the job initiative programme, Afolabi Imoukhuede, that the 2016 batch of the programme would be migrated into N-Power enhancement.
The latest NPower headcount started in one of the Northern state of Zamfara today, Tuesday 23rd of April.
In a letter cited by InfomediaNG, the Office of The State Focal Person, National Social Investment Programme (N-SIP), Zamfara State Social Investment Office, Gusau N-Power Programme says:
“Sequel to the directive given by the Federal Government through the office of the National Social Investment Programme (N-SIP), all 2016 N-Power beneficiaries are to undergo headcount and verification Nationwide.
“Similarly, all the 2016 N-Power Beneficiaries must come along with the following:
1. Clearance letter from their Place of Primary Assignment (PPA).
2. PPA time-book.
3. Posting Letter.
4. Head of PPA Letter to be attached with the clearance alongside the PPA Address.
Note that any beneficiary who fails to come along with these items would not be entertained…”
Recalled that a few days ago, volunteers of the programme went wild on social media when FG said that it didn’t have the capacity to permanent the 2016 first batch of the programme.
It however promised that it’s holding talks with states governments on how the beneficiaries should be considered when there are vacancies.
Significance of the NPower headcount for 2016 batch
It mean two things:
- FG may consider paying the 2016 batch till it’s able to come up with another alternative for the 200, 000 volunteers. As such, the APC-led government will want to know the real persons who doing the job they are paid to do.
FG pays billions of Naira every month to the beneficiaries of the programme. If it’s by the 200, 000 by the N30, 000 monthly stipend, then the Buahari-led government has been paying N6, 000, 000, 000 as monthly to the volunteers over two years ago.
- It could also mean FG wants to know the diligent ones and reward them big through employment opportunities. As you are aware, the APC-led government has rolled out several vacancies in recent time.
You could be one of the lucky ones.
And finally, to know the number of N-Power T-shirt to be dispatched to the state where headcount has been done.
All the best.
