A few days back, one of those who has been waiting patiently for N-Power to start taking application shared on InfomediaNG NPower WhatsApp Group a link which contains the name of the job initiative programme.
He sought our advice on the authenticity of the website. Unfortunately, on visiting the link we discovered that the website looks exactly like N-Power official website.
But it’s fake!
But the difference include:
- The fake N-Power website has Google Ads on it.
- The URL is suspicious
It has a registration link contrary to the several tweets by N-Power on Twitter that it hasn’t started accepting fresh applications.
The fake website was reported to the authentic N-Power social media page on twitter.
The good news is that N-Power has taken strong action against the website.: It has been brought down from the web, no longer accessible.
The fake N-Power site must have been reported to the domain registrar.
While the fake domain may have been brought down a similar website may come up soon, watch out.
Difference between original N-Power website and fake N-Power website
There are certain things you need to watch out to know the real official application portal of N-Power.
- Official website of N-Power is http://npower.gov.ng and not
- Most of the time, government website usually comes with .gov Even if doesn’t you still have to be careful
- Again, npower website doesn’t run adverts on its official website.
Hardly can you see any government website running Google Ads
In a tweet, the job initiative says:
“N-Power is NOT taking new applications yet.
Please STOP putting in your details in SCAM websites.
When we open the portal, you will be the first to know.”
Whenever you see any website asking you to submit your N-Power application, quickly head straight to Twitter @npower_ng is the official handle to get the real gist.
On Facebook, you can also find the job initiative programme there www.facebook.com/npowerng
Or follow InfomediaNG on Twitter @infomediang for everything you need to know about N-Power applications.
