Zainab Habib Aliyu, who was a victim of drug cartel has thanked Nigerians for their love and concern during her time of trial and detention in Saudi Arabia.
She was arrested in 2018 in Saudi Arabia when she was on a lesser hajj, unfortunately, a banned substance was found in her luggage tagged with her name, unfortunately, the bag wasn’t hers.
Her dad had cried out and petitioned Nigeria’ anti-drug agency NDLEA which led to discovery of some drug cartels operating at the airport.
They specialise in planting drug in passengers’ luggage.
Amnesty International Nigeria, different media houses and Nigerians home and abroad took to the social media demanding her release.
President Muhammadu Buhari in his London private visit had directed the Attorney General of Federation and Minister of Justice Abubakar Malami to work with the Foreign Affairs Ministry to demand her release.
A few hours later Saudi authority set her free.
