The Federal Government has told beneficiaries of the N-Power programme to disregard a fake monetary programme being circulated online tagged N-Power Moni.
A few hours ago, some unscrupulous individuals launched N-Power Moni under the guise of the legitimate name.
It was targeted at defrauding innocent beneficiaries of the job initiative programme. There are 500, 000 of volunteers who are under the programme receiving N30, 000 as a monthly stipend.
The social media channels of the programme said, “Dear N-Power Beneficiaries,
Please disregard news about a product called N-Power Moni. This is NOT from the Federal Government or the National Social Investment Programme Office.
Any news or links NOT shared by our verified social media handles should be deemed as FALSE.
A few weeks back, a fake domain name came up persuading prospective applicants to submit their application on a fake website.
The fake website was taken down a few hours later.
At the time of filing report, the domain name npowermoni.com which claims “N-Power Moni provides Micro Loans to N-Power Volunteers” has been taken down.
