List of New Courses In LAUTECH (Cyber Security&Others)

Cyber Security is one of the new departments at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomosho.

The course is among the eight new courses which culminated into eight new departments.

The institution jointly owned by Oyo and Osun States has been engulfed in crisis in recent time.

The eight new departments at LAUTECH is spread across three faculties ( Faculty of Computer Science and Informatics; Faculty of Food and Consumer Sciences; and  Faculty of Management Sciences).

A statement on the official portal of the institution stated, “Notice is hereby given to the general public that LAUTECH has been granted approval by the relevant authorities to award Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Technology Degrees in the following programmes commencing from the 2019/2020 academic session in the various faculties indicated hereunder” and details of the new departments and requirement were also listed.

InfomediaNG noticed that the Faculty of Computer Science and Informatics has two new courses (departments)

They are:

  1. Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) Cyber Security
  2. Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) Information System

Duration: 4 Years

Two new departments were also allocated to the Faculty of Food and Consumer Sciences. They are:

  1. Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) Food Science
  2. Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) Nutrition and Dietetics

Duration: 5 Years

While the Faculty of Management Sciences has the highest number if new courses, taking four new departments, they are:

  1. Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) Economics
  2. Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) Business Management
  3. Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) Accounting
  4. Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) Marketing

Duration: 4 Years

Faculty of Management Sciences in LAUTECH has the highest number of students despite the fact that it is a university of technology.

Admission Requirements for the new courses

Candidates seeking admission to any of the programmes must possess minimum of credit passes in at least five (5) subjects at 0’Level, including English Language and Mathematics at not more than two (2) sittings in the GCE, SSCE, (WAEC, NECO, NABTEB).
