Born the same day, by the same parents, and christened the same, an identical twins Owami and Olwethu who got married to the same man Mzukiseni said they are tired of the marriage and are now quitting after 8 years.
The 29-year-old identical twins from Roodepoort made headlines a few years ago when they said, “YES I DO” to a TV director Mzukiseni Mzazi (54).
Roodepoort is a city in Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa.
According to Owami and Olwethu, the marriage was terrible. They also said that the man lied about his previous marriage and he was a serial abuser.
They unanimously said, “He used to beat us. He poured diesel over the house but couldn’t find matches. If he had we’d be dead today. We fear he might end up doing something bad to us.”
It was gathered that family members made efforts to resolve the crisis in the marriage but to no avail.
The Twins mother Buyiswa Mvangeni (45) was quoted as saying by Daily Sun that she had at first believed a mature man would take care of her two girls.
“Mzazi called a meeting with both our families. But even then nothing changed. The abuse got out of hand and nothing could be done to save the marriage” she was quoted as saying.
Report from South Africa says lawyers are currently finalising divorce proceedings with the resolutions to be released at a later date.
South African men are notorious for violence against women.
