On November 9, 2019, the Nigeria Air Force announced the promotion of 99 of its officers to the next rank.

A communique signed by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Nigerian Air Force, Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola conveyed the message of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar to the affected naval officers.

“On behalf of officers, airmen, airwomen and civilian staff of the NAF, heartily congratulates the newly promoted senior officers and urges them to see the elevation as motivation to re-dedicate themselves towards more effective and efficient service delivery. The newly-promoted senior officers will be decorated with their new ranks at a later date,” he said.

The Nigerian Navy announced a similar promotion among its officers, where 140 of Naval officers were promoted to the next rank, some Army officers were alos promoted.
