A stalwart of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former Minister of Aviation Mr Femi Fani-kayode has said it would be difficult for history to be kind to President Muhammadu Buhari.
According to the former minister, the antecedent of Buhari would not allow history to be kind to the retired Army General.
On December 25, 2019, Buhari had said he hoped history would be kind to him considering his efforts in making the country better than he met it.
“I swore to hold this office in accordance with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and God willing, I will follow the system diligently to the end of my term and I hope history will be kind to me and Nigerians,” he said this when he received residents of Abuja led by the Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Muhammad Bello during the traditional Christmas Day homage.
Reacting, Fani-Kayode tweeted, “How can history & posterity be kind to a man that has shed so much blood?
“From 1966 till today all you have ever been known for is hate, division, terror, mass murder, ethnic cleansing & genocide. For 200 yrs you will be remembered for nothing but carnage, savagery and butchery.”
The statement has triggered reactions from his followers on Twitter.
One Ijeoma, tweeted, “hat statement shows how far removed from reality Buhari is and how his sense of self-worth is over inflated. The guy actually have lived his whole under the self-imposed delusion that he is a saint. The lie has been told so many times he has actually come to identify with it”
