The economic impact of the deadly coronavirus pandemic has forced Nigeria’s Government to cut the 2020 capital project by 20 per cent.
It was gathered that the budget was sent as a matter of urgency to the National Assembly to quickly review the 2020 budget.
Sources in Abuja said members of the executive who had a meeting with the leadership of the National Assembly included the Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed, and the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Mr Mele Kyari.
Insiders hinted that a 20 per cent cut on capital projects across ministries, departments and agencies to the tune of N312,820,542,675.
We’re following the event closely and we’ll keep updated.
