Anambra and Niger states have reported the first cases of the deadly coronavirus pandemic, the latest coronavirus update released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has shown as the number of confirmed cases continue to rise across the World.
While Anambra which is in the Southeast geopolitical zone recorded one, Niger, one of the states in the North Central recorded one.
The first case of the COVID-19 was reported in the densely populated commercial city of Lagos which had 163 cases as at 22:31, Friday, April 10, 2020
With the latest update, more than 50% of Nigerian states now have confirmed cases of the deadly virus which origin was traced to Wuhan, a province in China.
With Anambra and Niger states on the list, 19 states are now battling with the virus as the COVID-19 Presidential Task Force continues to make recommendations to the Federal Government on how to curb the further spread of the disease, 17 states were yet to record any case
One of the measures put in place is the restriction of movements in Lagos, Ogun and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
Nigeria currently have 305 confirmed cases, 58 were discharged while seven deaths have been recorded as at 22:38, Friday, April 10, 2020, according to NCDC Coronavirus Cases in Nigeria.
Seventeen new cases of #COVID19 have been reported as follows:
8 in Lagos
3 in Katsina
2 in FCT
1 in Niger
1 in Kaduna
1 in Anambra
1 in Ondo
