Ministry of Youths Opens Application Portal For Green Stimulus Programme, Here Are The Requirements

The Federal Ministry of Youth And Sports Development (FMYSD) has opened the application portal for Green Stimulus Programme for young Nigerians who want to embrace agrotech across the country

What is Green Stimulus?

The program is a part of the Economic Sustainability Programme of the APC-led government and implemented by FMYSD.

Green Stimulus is designed to develop a new breed of trained technicians with basic and advanced knowledge in renewable energy and smart agriculture.

The program is divided into two major areas:

  1. Renewable energy
  2. Smart agriculture

Renewable energy

The renewable energy component is designed to basically focus on solar energy development, management, and implementation.

Renewable energy

The smart agriculture component will focus on improving agricultural yield and leveraging drone technology to improve Agribusiness.

Model:

The programme will train and empower 300 youths across the six geopolitical zones through online access guaranteed and fully paid training.

It will be executed using industry-specific starter packs to enable trainees to become installers, service providers, energy dispensers, and solutions developers for renewable energy and agriculture in Nigeria.

Aim of the programme

It is designed to empowering successful trainees to become self-employed and capable of generating income using their acquired skills and equipment to solve small-scale energy needs in their respective localities.

Eligibility Requirements

To apply for the Green Stimulus Programme, you fulfil the below requirements:

1) Must possess a valid government-issued means of identification (National ID, Voter Card, International Passport, NIN)

2) Must be willing to undertake some travel (for practical sessions) if selected

3) Must be a Nigerian citizen between the ages of 18 to 35 years

4) Must possess a minimum level of education required is O’Level which could be one of the following: WASSCE, NECO or NABTEB
