Between NGN250,000 to NGN3 million would be given to 10,000 successful applicants for the Nigeria Youth Investment Fund (NYIF), a credit facility by the Federal Government.
In a list seen by InfomediaNG Business Solutions, the shortlisted beneficiaries would receive financial support for several business activities. Some of them include procurement, to increase production, business support, buying goods, poultry farming, and business boosting among others.
Earlier this year, the Ministry of Sports and Youths Development, which supervises the loan, disbursed over NGN165 Million to 239 NYIF beneficiaries across Nigeria, 5,285 beneficiaries benefited from the pilot phase.
NYIF Loan Training
According to Sunday Dare, the minister of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development stated that over 3 million applications were received for the NYIF loan.
It was stated that the 10,000 shortlisted beneficiaries would undergo training by the Ministry after which they will be credited.
The training is to ensure efficient use of the loan “therefore increasing the yield and growth the loan can deliver to the intended business owner,” the statement said.
Speaking on how there were selected, the ministry disclosed that the screening committee used the age, bank verification Number of applicants to check “whether or not the individual has an existing government loan or received covid 19 business payments”

Interest on the loan
The Nigeria Youth Investment Fund which was approved by Federal Executive Council in July 2020, has a single digit of 5% and a moratorium of 12 months before repayment.
