Lafia university undergraduate allegedly impregnates his female lecturer​

A male undergraduate at the Federal University in Lafia, Nasarawa State capital, Northern part of Nigeria, has reportedly impregnated one of his female lecturers.

According to the report, the student whose name was simply given as Kelvin was a student of Computer Science Department of the institution.

The institution was yet to react to the report at the time of this report, Kevin has reportedly been expelled.

It was gathered the university disciplinary board took the decision for what was described as an act of immorality and promiscuous behaviour.

The decision of the school management has been criticised by many. They argued that it was a consensual romance.

The female lecturer made the advance

In another report, Kevin was quoted as saying that the relationship between him and his lecturer was a mutual agreement.

He reportedly said that the female lecturer threatened him on several occasions if he planned to turn down her advances.

He also said that the love affair were initiated by the female lecturer, the name of the lecturer was yet to be made public at the time of this report.

The student also reportedly confessed that he had slept with the lecturer on so many occasions, including in her office set within the administration block.

Sex for marks is rampant in Nigeria higher institutions particularly from male teachers to female undergraduate students.

Recently, the employment of some university teachers was suspended due to report cases of sexual harassment of their female students.

It is not true- Management

In the meantime, the management of Federal University Lafia, (FULafia) in Nasarawa state has debunked the report.

The Head, Information and Public Relations Department of the university, Abubakar Ibrahim described the report as fake news.

He said in a statement:

“The attention of the Management of Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) has been drawn to a story which has gone viral on the social media to the effect that one “Kelvin,” said to be a student of the Computer Science Department of FULafia, has impregnated a lecturer of the department.

He said, “This story cannot be further away from falsehood. Therefore, the management wishes to state categorically that the story is nothing but a fabrication by the writer.”

He said the report is mischievous and aimed at “destroying the good image and reputation of Federal University of Lafia because no such incident has happened in the university.”

He urged the member to disregard the report, “The Management of the Federal University of Lafia will continue to maintain a high moral standard in the university,” he said.
