NSE Confers Fellowship on ACU Works Director, Olaniyi, 480 Other Engineers

The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) has conferred Fellowship on 481 engineers and five eminent personalities with honorary fellowship awards for their contributions to engineering development in the country.

One of the conferees is the pioneer and incumbent Director of Works at Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo, Engr. Oluwole Aderogba Olaniyi.

At an event held at the International Conference Centre of the University of Ibadan, Oyo State, on Monday, December 1, 2025, Olaniyi, an associate professor of structures and materials, joined other distinguished engineers from across the country.

The ACU Director of Works had earlier been conferred with the Nigerian Institution of Safety Engineers (FNISafetyE) and the Fellowship of the Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers (FNICE) in Ibadan and Kano respectively, in October 2025.

Olaniyi was a former lecturer at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, before joining the services of ACU in 2020.

He holds an OND, B.Tech, and M.Tech in Civil Engineering from The Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti, and LAUTECH, and later earned a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, specialising in Structures and Materials, from the University of Ilorin in 2023.

He pioneered the establishment of the Civil and Electrical Engineering Departments at the University of The Gambia during his sojourn in the West African country as a volunteer with the Technical Aid Corps (TAC).

He has held several administrative and academic roles at higher institutions, including ACU Project Engineer, Site Engineer, and Acting Head of the Civil Engineering Department of the institution.

He is a registered engineer with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), among other professional bodies.

Olaniyi is the incumbent General Secretary of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Oyo Branch, and has served in different roles within major engineering professional bodies at both the state and national levels.
