He was born in January 1959, 21 months before Nigeria gained independence from its colonial masters
He began his elementary education in Yola and later went to Our Lady’s High School in Kaduna in 1971 and from there headed to Barewa College from 1971 to 1976 for his Higher School Certificate
He is an alumnus of the prestigious Ahmadu Bello Unversity (ABU) where he bagged a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from 1977 to 1980. He would return in 1985 for his Master’s degree in the same department.
Career:
Muhammed Musa Bello’s career in the financial sector is one that doesn’t only inspiring but showed on versed the cool-looking 62-year-old man is in the global financial system.
A year before he returned to ABU for his Masters, he had already got a banking job at one of the subsidiaries of Barings Bank and Morgan Guaranty Trust, Icon Limited.
A few months in his first major professional job, he was with J.P Morgan & Co, where he was trained in commercial banking and risk management.
He was also a former Director at Habib Bank Plc and at 33, he was appointed the General Manager at Bakabure Industrial Complex in Yola in 1992.
He was a Member of the Technical Committee on Privatization (TPC) and a Member of the Adamawa State Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture.
He was at a time Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria where he served till 2015.
As the head of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), his ministry coordinates 11 departments under the FCDA
As FCT Minister:
He was among the 36 cabinet members of the APC-led government in 2015. He was appointed and sworn in as the Minister of the FCT on November 11, 2015. Again, on July 23, 2019, he was appointed and sworn in alongside 43 other ministers on August 21, 2019.
