Thousands of Nigerians have benefited from the Payroll Support Scheme, one of the funding programmes under the MSME Survival Fund
On January 6, 2021, the Federal Government revealed 283,023 Nigerians had benefited from the programme.
MSMEs is Nigeria’s Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises one the economic recovery plans after the COVID-19 pandemic.
What Payroll Support Scheme Is About
The Payroll Support Program by the APC-led government is aimed at providing adequate support to MSMEs, with staff salaries for up to 3 months.
It focuses on organisations who were impacted by the pandemic, a global virus that has claimed thousands of lives.
Now, the government has released the breakdown of Payroll Support Scheme Beneficiaries in Nigeria, starting from the North Central states.
The scheme is designed to support vulnerable MSMEs by paying the salaries of their staff for a period of three months because of the vulnerabilities caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The breakdown of below shows that the Survival Fund Payroll Support Scheme is closed in 3 States and still open in 4 states in the North Central.

Can I Still Apply For Survival Fund?
For those who were unable to complete their enrolment before the portal was closed, can still complete their registration.
To this effect, an email to this will be sent by the survival fund team. We also gathered that the portal may still be opened for everyone that didn’t apply.
Eligibility requirements:
To benefit from this programme, you must provide the following documents:
- RC No. of the business
- Business Name
- Employee Account Numbers and BVNs
- Year of Registration
- Type of Business
- Proof of last three (3) salaries paid to your employees
NOTE:
You Must Supply Company Information As They Appear On Your Cac Certificate,
Your Bank Details As They Appear On Your Bank Statement.
Number of beneficiaries in December 2020
The latest figure shows an increase of 44,160 beneficiaries as against 238,868 individuals who benefited as at December 11, 2020.
In December, President Muhammadu Buhari stated that 238,868 individual benefited, but today, the official Twitter page of MSMEs disclosed that more people have been added to the pool, jacking up the number of beneficiaries by over 44,000.
The Payroll Support Program is one of the Federal Government’s Survival Fund programme.
Number of beneficiaries in November 2020
In Nov 19 2020, the government revealed that 101,567 beneficiaries received the first-month salary from the Payroll Support Program.
The beneficiaries were drawn from 16,253 businesses.
