A report by a data technology company Statisense has revealed that Nigerian mobile users made over 83 million visits to two of Nigeria’s betting sites on their mobile phones in June 2024.
The data analysis site, which relied on a keyword research tool, Semrush, says the top five most visited sites on mobile phones by Nigerians in June 2024 were Google, Xvideos, sportybet, Bet9ja, and Facebook.
The research shows that these sites received more Nigerian visitors than any financial or news site. No news or financial platform makes the top 10.
According to data shared by Statisense on its X handle, Google had 382.68 million; Xvideos had 52.02 million; Sportybet had 46.44 million; Bet9ja garnered 36.7 million while Facebook (social media platform) had 30.86 million Nigerian visitors with 30 days.
Others include Xnxx (28.16 million); YouTube (26.86M); Goal (18.43M); Flashscore occupied the ninth position with 16.67 million while Livescore had 16.06 million visitors in the month under review.
The data not only underscores Nigerians’ interest in sports but also in adult-related content, even in the face of hardship imposed on the country because of bad policy implementation by the country’s leadership.
