You can seek Masters admission in the United States with your Higher National Diploma degree (HND) transcripts without World Education Evaluation (WES) unlike Nigeria, where Polytechnic graduates will have to pass through Direct Entry and get a university degree before they can be accepted for Masters programmes, especially for those who don’t want to pass through the Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) route.

No Nigerian university accepts holders of Higher National Diploma (HND) for Masters programmes. Even when they do, it is with a PGD degree, there is a limit to their academic pursuit unless they have a university degree. That’s why most of the universities in Nigeria now run what they call HND conversion to BSc programmes.
However, this is not the case in the United States. Some universities open doors for HND degree holders to proceed to Masters programmes.
The founder of Scholarship Cafe and consultant, Dr Olumuyiwa Igbalajobi, who has shared several scholarship and postgraduate tips for Nigerians and Africans recently revealed the list of US universities that accept HND transcripts without WES evaluation and some that accept transcripts and WES evaluation.
