Assessment
Nigeria Police Force is in charge of policing the 36 states of the federation including the federal capital territory, Abuja. However, the Minister of Police Affairs sits in Abuja, how would he get first-hand information about the performance of the officers of police?
Officers are still being subjected to despicable conditions at some of the police training institutions across Nigeria.
The ministry of police affairs needs to do more in ensuring that officers are well paid, trained, and conduct themselves to global best policing practices.
On major highways, men of the force take force motorists to pay bribes and involve themselves in ridiculous behaviors.
