Profile of Afolabi Imoukhuede, Pioneer Coordinator of N-Power Programme

Until President Muhammadu Buhari moved the Social Investment Programme from the Office of the Vice President, Mr. Afolabi Imoukhuede, a human resource expert, was the driver behind the management of the N-Power scheme.

The name Afolabi Imoukhuede is synonymous with N-Power, a job initiative programme of the APC-led government of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The energetic, vibrant, practical and result-oriented Afolabi didn’t just come to the limelight during this Buhari/Osinbajo dispensation. He’s been into national and international projects that have touched lives.

If you say his appointment is politically motivated, YES you’re right, but this is a man that is giving young unemployed Nigerians reasons to bring out the potential in them through the job empowerment programme he’s appointed to coordinate.

Mr. Afolabi Imoukhuede attended Federal Government College, Warri, Delta State, from 1986 to 1992, thereafter proceeding to Essex County College (ECC), New Jersey, United States for his AA in Accounting from 1998 to 1999.

He was active in some societies like Social Science Sensitivity Group, Christian Fellowship

Afolabi didn’t just stop there. He got his BSc, Accounting (1999-2000) at the largest institution for higher education in New Jersey, Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey also called Rutgers University or RU

Afolabi is an accountant by profession.

Prior to his appointment as the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Nigerian President on Job Creation and Youth Employment, Office of the Vice President, Afolabi Imoukhuede is the pioneer Chief Executive Officer of MCS Consulting Limited.

He is an experienced International Development consultant with sector focus in construction, real estate and small business development.

He is also a certified Project Management and Human Capital consultant with particular emphasis on Technical, Vocational Education and Training (TVET).

His personal human development initiative is #SkillUp, an Industry-Backed Technical Skills Competency Development solution designed to mitigate a current dearth of skilled and competent technicians in the various industries by developing competent enterprise builders and wealth creators.

#SkillUp is in partnership with the global certification awarding body: City & Guilds of London, the Government and the Industries.

He was the Deputy Team Leader/Intervention Lead with the UK Department for International Development – DFID/GEMS2 programme (managed by Coffey International) with a sector focus on stimulating Growth and Employment in Construction and Real Estate.

At GEMS2, Afolabi championed the delivery of affordable housing for the lower and lower-middle-income earners in Lagos state through the Private Public Partnership (PPP) procurement methodology.

He also directed the implementation of the demand survey for affordable housing and related housing finance options for Lagos state and unlocking constraints around developing Skills for the Construction Industry.

 National Assignment and Political Appointment

Appointed as the SSA in October 2015, he leads the Job Creation Unit (JCU) in the Office of the Vice President with a focus to unlock sustainable economic opportunities in Nigeria’s REAL Sector comprising Agriculture/Agro-allied, Construction, Retail Trade, Renewable Energy and ICT/Digital Jobs.

Since the N-Power programme took off in December 2016, Imoukhuede has touched virtually all the six geo-political zones in Nigeria, and he’s on the verge of touring all the 36 states of the federation accessing the performance of NPOWERNG BENEFICIARIES.

Before now, he facilitated the Maiden (2013) and 2nd edition (2014) of the Lagos Enterprise Day by the former Lagos State Governor (now a member of Federal Executive Council: Minister), Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN).

This was also institutionalized as an Annual Event (July 23rd of each year) to celebrate Enterprise in Lagos state

He’s TVE Speaker/Resource Person at the 20th edition of the Nigerian Economic Summit (focused on the State of Nigerian Education) organized by the Nigerian Economic Summit Group – NESG

Conceptualized and pioneer model for the Enterprise Development Management (EDM) strategic framework for the Lagos State Technical Colleges

He has also headed MICRO, SMALL & MEDIUM ENTERPRISE PROJECT (MSME) DECEMBER 2006 as a consultant to appraise requests for fund proposals received from Business Development Service (BDS) providers nationwide.

The assignment involved scoring each proposal based on the fund’s eligibility criteria and then making recommendations to the fund managers either to proceed with consideration for grant funding or not.

MSME is a pilot program aimed at increasing the growth of MSMEs in the non-oil industry sub-sectors of Nigeria by improving their access to financial and business development services.

He was the former Resident Consultant Project Manager for Confederation of Danish Industries (DI) Denmark, to coordinate all administrative and executive duties concerning DI/World Bank technical partnership project with the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) a leading Business Membership Organization (BMO) in Nigeria.

Part of the Project Team for the reviews of Consultants/Contractors/Sub-Contractors Bids & Tenders for various works. A proposed 4-Star Hotel designed exclusively for business travellers.

SELLWYN GARDENS, ALMA BEACH ESTATES LEKKI, LAGOS

An Infrastructure Development project for the entire Alma Beach Estate located at the 2nd roundabout of the Lekki-Epe expressway. The land site covers a massive area of 106hectares. It is bounded on the Westside by the expressway and sprawls to the beach of the lagoon on the east.

WATERFALLS COURT, SELLWYN GARDENS LEKKI, LAGOS

A luxurious residential dwelling comprising 8 condominium towers, independent water and power plant, clubhouse with facilities for swimming, tennis, squash and banquet halls. It is the first phase of the Alma Beach Estates development and it covers an area of 52,000sqm.
