Love Don’t Care by Simi: Youtube Video, Message, Choreography

Last updated on October 30th, 2018 at 07:02 am

Simisola Bolatito Ogunleye popularly known as Simi is a Nigerian singer and songwriter born on April 19, 1988. Anthony Amenaghawon takes a look at her latest single, “Love Don’t Care” The Message, and The Choreography

Talented music artiste popularly known as Simi is gradually becoming a force to reckon with. From “Ara Ile” (2008) to “Take a Chance” (2012), “E No Go Funny” (2014) to “Jamb Question” (2015), Simi keeps getting better.

Upon the release of a single titled “Jamb Question” which later featured Falz in the remix, Simi was listed as one of the artistes to watch out for in 2016 by NotJustOk.

Jamb Question went on to be nominated in the “Best Music Video” category at the 2015 edition of The Headies.

Simi, who started her career as a gospel singer, hit the airwaves with yet another hit singles, “Love Don’t Care” in 2016 with a powerful message to parents and guardians who are well pleased in choosing partner for their child.

Her newest hit single, ‘Love Don’t Care’ brings to bare the fact that parents should allow their children marry whom they truly love.

Like in Latin it is said that Amo Vinci omnia which means love conquers all, tribe, profession and its likes should not be major factors that could hinder two love birds as it were.

This message is deep and the video says it all. The choreography, the background and most importantly her sonorous voice makes the song a delight. All we wish her is that she should not rest on her oars in ensuring that she continues to sing inspiring songs that will stand the test of time.

On January 9, 2014, Simi released two singles titled “Tiff” and “E No Go Funny”, with the former receiving massive airplay and accepted generally among music critics.

The song went on to be nominated in the “Best Alternative Song” category at the 2015 edition of The Headies.

In 2015, Simi won the “Most Promising Act to Watch” category at the 2015 Nigeria Entertainment Awards.

Ariwo ko by Adekunle Gold: Video review

Last updated on October 30th, 2018 at 08:27 am

Album: Gold

Track: Ariwo ko

Artiste: Adekunle Gold

Producer: YBNL

Director: Adasa Cookey

Location: Lagos

‘Ariwo ko’ which means it’s not noise by Adekunle GOLD, it’s a clarion call to music artistes who think songs are all about putting  beats together without a proper message or content for its listeners.

Moreso, the ‘Orente progenitor’ in its lyrics also brings to fore those people/artists who think because they are wealthy they can act without caution.

“Your Papa get money, You dey do any how….” Adekunle Gold sings.

It preaches humility and the need for us all to know that whatever you have achieved or even if your parents are well to do, it all comes from God Almighty, not to us Lord but to you be glory and power.

The song is a fusion of afrobeat and a nice Indian flavor which reminds us of Bollywood the film industry in India.

As it is common among music artistes the song might actually be referring to one of the wave making A-list musician who comes from a wealthy home and even makes it known in his songs. Thumbs up to the YBNL star Adekunle Gold who keeps getting better as he releases new songs.

While naijaloaded, Nigeria’s website for music and video, rated it “Video of the Week,” Ariwo ko was one of the top Nigerian trends on the social media, particularly twitter, on August 22, 2016.

“Enu o ose

Enu o se ee

Ariwo ko ni music ooo

Empty barrel lo ma n pariwo

Ariwo ko ni music oo

Enu o se,

Enu o se ee

Ariwo ko ni music oo

Empty barel lo man pariwo

……………………

Numbers don’t lie

And I don’t shout

Topping every chart

And I don’t make mouth

Oluwa lo n seyi

Emi naa ko ooo

…………………………………

No be only you go make am

Je a gboran o ree ooo

Who you help ooo?

No be only you go chop life

Je a gboran ore, ye pariwo

Enu o see…………………

………………………………..

Your Papa get money

You dey do any how….

………………………………….

Ajepako niwa

Pele omo olowo

Owa so’le aye dawa mailo

Baba ma lo n se

Iwo naa kooooo….

…………………………”

It’s not by noise!

Thumbs up to the YBNL star Adekunle Gold who keeps getting better as he releases new songs.
