A few years back, a friend was robbed, his wallet which contained some monies and his ATM Debit Card were stolen. Good for him, his mobile phone wasn’t stolen. And within a few minutes, he communicated with his bank by dialing the USSD code to block his account number.

This means his ATM card with robbers was useless. They couldn’t make any transactions from his bank account.

So, how exactly can you block your bank account if your Debit Card is stolen or you feel that your account details have been compromised? How would you block your account number if the unfortunate incident happened during the weekend?

To block your bank account number, you may need to have your NUBAN account number handy and other info to be sure you’re the true owner of the account.
