Mrs Anammah’s impact at Jumia Nigeria

Her appointment as the Chief Executive Officer at Jumia Nigeria has seen the company emerge from its shell to becoming one of the first-stop for Nigerians who want to shop online.

Her revolutionary marketing strategies has left other online market place in Nigeria struggling to catch up with unbelievable strategic marketing skills being churned out by the Pharmacy UNN graduate.

Since 2015, Jumia Nigeria has witnessed transition from online Retail to a Marketplace.

Jumia Nigeria is an online marketplace operating in more than 10 African countries. Jumia’s scope covers eCommerce, Travel booking, Food ordering and Classifieds, but Juliet Anammah keeps expanding the scope of the company for Nigerian users to have great user experience on its platform.

Her Volunteer Experiences

  • Director, The American Business Council
  • Director, Idea Incubator

Juliet Anammah was on the Board of Diamond Bank Plc as a non-Executive Director until its merger with Access Bank Plc

She is a member of the Industrial and Competitiveness Council of the Federal Government where she serves as the Chair of Skills and Acquisition sub-team.

Citron in its 12-page report alleged that, “Jumia is the worst abuse of the IPO system since the Chinese RTO fraud boom almost a decade ago.”

She responded saying, “We stand with our prospectus which represents our business and is related to our business.

“The prospectus was issued before listing as it is customary that you allow investors to take a look at your business, projection and risk identified. Part of the reasons why we brought our earnings forward was to show from our Q1 2019 which we are very positive and happy about reflects the company as opposed to the fraud allegations.”

Juliet Anammah is indeed a “man” who against all odds showed the rest of the World that it can be done even at a time when Citron fraud allegations came to pull her down.

But she has a tougher battle ahead of her as OPay App, another emerging online market place looks determined to win the hearts of millions of Nigerian consumers through its never-before promos and killer marketing strategies.
