Growing Up

Spending most of her upbringing in the South-South, Rita Dominic Dominic completed her secondary school education in Akwa Ibom State at the Federal Government College, Ikot Ekpene.

She proceeded to the University of Port Harcourt and bagged a degree in Theatre Arts with honours at 24-year-old in 1999.

So, she didn’t join Nollywood by accident. She is a trained actor. A refined producer. She is a classic screen goddess.

Even before her Thearter Arts studies at UNIPORT, she had been acting as a child, including appearing in the school play and television shows in her home state when she was growing up.

She is the youngest of four children from a royal family Nwaturuocha family of Aboh Mbaise local government area in Imo State.

Her late parents were health care professionals, her father was a medical doctor and her mother a nursing officer.

  • 2013 Best of Nollywood Awards for Best Actress In Supporting role English film

  • 2017 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards in her role in the epic movie, “76”. The movie gives the chronicle story of the 1976 coup which claimed the life a military head of state in Nigeria Brig. Gen. Murtala Muhammed.

Rita has also been nominated for the 2022 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards for Best Overall Movie titled, “La Femme Anjola”

A public figure like Rita usually dominates Google Search. Until 2020, millions of admirers thought she might have married secretly.

But the Nollywood screen diva surprised her Instagram followers on December 26, 2020, when she revealed the face of her partner Fidelis Anosike.

Fidelis is the owner of Folio Media Group, the publisher of Nigeria’s oldest newspaper Daily Times Nigeria.

Since that, all ears had been on the ground to know when the traditional wedding would hold and on April 5, 2022, Rita disclosed that she engaged to the Daily Times publisher.

On April 19, 2022, Rita Dominic and Fidelis Anosike sealed their relationship at a wedding ceremony in Aboh, Mbaise, Imo State.
