There are three different methods you can receive Google Adsense Verification PIN in your country. If your PIN was sent to the wrong address or you’ve exceeded the number of three attempts, this post reveals how to verify your account within three months.
Significance of Adsense verification PIN
Your Adsense earnings can only be processed when your account has been verified, that is when Google has confirmed that you’re what you proved to be via your address.
“To protect the security of accounts, Google requires you to verify your address before we can send you any payments. To do so, we mail a Personal Identification Number (PIN) to your payment address. You’ll then need to enter this PIN within your account,” Google

You need to verify your account through a PIN Google sends to you, the methods include:
- By post (mail)
- By phone number
- By Proof of Identity e.g National Identity Card, Voter’s Card, Driver’s Licence, or International Passport.
1) By Mail (Receive PIN by Postal Service)
Getting Nigerian Google Adsense PIN by mail or postal service is a nightmare for some content creators in some countries who have already monetised their blogs.
Most of those who find it difficult to get their Google Adsense verification PIN attribute their challenges to Postal Service Error.
To be honest with you Nigerian Postal Service has improved, it however needs to do more in terms of service delivery.
You might not get your Google Adsense PIN by post if you didn’t fill in the address correctly. In order to ensure that your Google Adsense PIN gets to you by postal address, please follow the tips below:
In the Address 1 and Address 2 fields, space is limited to 30 characters. Here are a few quick tips to help you manage the characters:
Name: Use your full name as it appears on any of your means of Identification
Postal Code: Use the correct postal code of your area. Your postal code is the 6-digit number (Nigeria) used by postal services to sort letters to their appropriate location and destination.
If you reside in Ikeja, but you filled Abule Egba postal code, don’t be surprised that the postmasters will use the postal code not even your name or physical address to sort the mail. Please use the correct postal code of your area.
If you do not know your postal code, consult your local post office or try doing a quick Google search. E.g Allen Avenue Postal Code will give a specific postcode or the closest code to your area.
The Postal code is for a purpose, don’t just put any 6 digits
Use the nearby easily identifiable firm in your area: One of the best ways to easily get your PIN is to use the appropriate descriptive address.
Use abbreviation: apartment = apt, building = bldg, avenue = ave, and street = str
Don’t be wordy: Use No 15 instead of Number 15 (shorten the number to No. to save space)
Country
Select the country of your residence.
City
Enter the name of your city, state.

Note:
All details in your account must correspond with the document you are submitting. If you failed to verify your Adsense account, Google is at liberty to stop displaying Ads on your blog.
Now that you’ve received your Adsense PIN, what’s next?
Follow the steps below to verify your AdSense account using the PIN you received from Google
STEP 1: Sign in to your AdSense account at www.google.com/adsense with the email address and password you used during the application process
STEP 2: Click on Setting from the options on the left-hand side
STEP 3: From the drop-down menu select payment
STEP 4: In the left navigation bar, click Account Information, then click on verify Address.
Alternatively, you can click on the red alert button on top of your dashboard which says “your payments are currently withheld because you’re yet to verify your address”.
Clicking on it will bring up the PIN form where to enter your 6-digit PIN.
STEP 5: Enter your PIN as it appears on the right and click Submit PIN
Caution: your account will be suspended if you enter an incorrect PIN three times.
What if Adsense PIN is sent to the wrong address?
You could have your PIN sent to the wrong address:
- If you changed location
- If you wrongly filled the address during the registration process
If you found yourself in this situation, take the following action:
Head back to your account and update your address in Adsense and then apply for a new PIN. Or click resend after updating your address.
Note:
You can use either your old or new PIN. In a situation whereby you located the previous PIN before the arrival of a new one, use the old one. They are the same, according to Google.
Why you may not get your PIN
- Inability to fill the correct postal code
- Failure to use the appropriate address that’s most popular and nearest to you will help the postmaster to sort the letter upon arrival. Google has support for you to troubleshoot if you having challenges with your PIN
- Providing incomplete or incorrect information
Sometimes, they ask for an ID to prove the ownership of the mail.
When it’s exactly two weeks (if it falls on working days) go to the postal office in your location.
Even when it hasn’t arrived, you’ll be asked to come back. And it’s advisable to tell the postmaster your name and address so that he keeps it for you when it finally arrives.
You may even exchange numbers to track the arrival of your Adsense Verification pin, depending on your rapport with the postmaster, but it’s one of the best ways to track the arrival of your PIN.
Google says your Adsense PIN will arrive between 2 to 4 weeks. You’d get it by following the above tips.
So, you’ve got your Personal Identification Number, it’s time to verify your Google Adsense account to start receiving payment directly into your bank account right here in Nigeria.
Note:
A tracking ID isn’t issued for Adsense PIN because it’s not a physical product.
And if your PIN doesn’t arrive, you can only request 2 additional replacement PINs.
Other options below are only advisable when you’ve exhausted other means that we discussed above.
2) Using Government-Approved ID for Verification
Note: This is the most effective method to verify AdSense right now if you’ve exhausted the 3 attempts allowed by Adsense.
This method will enable you to verify your account within three months. You don’t have to wait for six months or groan over your inability to receive your PIN anymore.
Lately, many content creators, especially in Nigeria and some other countries complained that they didn’t receive a PIN for verification. If you are one of them, using proof of identity to verify your Adsense should be your best bet.
Don’t wait till eternity to be verified. Don’t forget that you only have three maximum attempts to request Adsense PIN.
Once you exceed three requests, an option to request a new one would be removed, that’s when government-approved ID verification comes in handy.
There is a four-week interval for a request, meaning you have to wait for three months to access the proof of ID option. When you apply the first month and you didn’t receive it, wait till another month (4 weeks) before you make another request.
When you’ve exhausted the three requests, the Proof of Identity option will automatically be made available on your account. Use any of the government-approved ID cards:
- National Identity Card like NIMC Card
- Voter’s Card
- Driver’s Licence
- International Passport.
Step 1: Visit Adsense proof-verification page
Step 2: Fill in your Name, Email address and publisher ID in the required fields.
Step 3: Upload a clear scanned data page of any of the means of ID we listed above
Step 4: Click Submit.
When this is done, Adsense will definitely acknowledge the receipt of your proof of identity as follows:
“Thanks for sending your proof of identity. I am happy to let you know that this fulfils the address verification requirements for Adsense.”
When you get this update, you can follow the link to proceed to choose a form of payment. Congratulations, you just crossed the hurdle of account verification.
Can I send a copy of my official identity document to request a new PIN?
Yes, but you’ll have to exhaust the number of requests allowed in your dashboard before you can use this option. If you’re eligible, you’ll see the notice on your dashboard.
3) Verification by Using Phone Number
You can actually verify your Adsense account using your phone number if the postal service isn’t reliable in your country.
- Step 1: Visit Google Support Phone Verification
- Step 2: Fill in the form with genuine details in the required fields like your Name, Email Address, Publisher ID etc.
- Step 3: In the Phone, No field, fill in the phone number as it appears in your Google account information.
- Step 3: Click Submit
Conclusion:
I hope this guide would provide the solution you’ve been longing for, most importantly for bloggers who have exhausted the three attempts, uploading your proof of identity is the easiest way to go about it.
Please can anyone help me on the method I should follow to verify my identity after 3 failed attempts.
Hello Sanusi,
The answer to your question is already in the article. What type of account are you using?
If it’s individual account, you must submit one of the following ID documents which must be government-issued ID:
Passport I.e international passport
National ID,
Valid driving license
Tips to ensure that your document is not rejected:
1) Use the same full name in all the documents
2) An expired or outdated document will be rejected, so make sure that your document is valid
3) The captured document must be clear and readable
4) Avoid reflection in your image
5) A blur image will be rejected.

Is there anything that I am not doing right? I have gone to the post office, but I cannot find any letter from Google at all. What do I do?
I want to use the option of an ID card but I am yet to exhaust that since I am still seeing the remaining three attempts. Please reply to me.

Thank you bro. It appears from my dash board that my PIN was sent on 15th November, but up till now it has not arrive. I checked in the post office two time but to no avail. The last time I went, I dropped my phone number and address with them in case it arrives so that they could put a call to me. I am entering the fourth week by next week.
Hi Saidu,
I’ll urge you to be patient more, till the end of the forth week, probably. Because this is highly dependent on your location. If you’re in the far north you may have to be patient.
I hope you filled the address correctly and used the right Postal code.

Hi Tejiri,
Go check at the nipost office. Talk to the postmaster in charge and drop the exact address you used for AdSense. Also add your phone number. Do them well, you know what I mean? Most times they would be the one to call when your pin arrives.
Thanks bro. I’m from Ghana but I think this information will help me.
Of course, it will help.
Use an easy to locate address…
