Michael Okpara University of Agriculture

The Michael Okpara University of Agriculture is a federal institution located at Umudike, Abia State.

It is located in Ikwuano Local Government Area of the state, which is about 11 kilometres southeast of Umuahia, the capital city of Abia State.

The university has over 40 accredited courses spread across several faculties.

Abia State University

This is owned and financed by the state government as it is the tradition in Nigeria.

It is located in Uturu town.

The university is owned and financed by the Living Word Ministries International (a Christian denomination).

Abia State College of Education (Special) is also located in Abia State.
