Starlink’s high-speed internet is now available in the country of Georgia, according to a press statement from the company’s headquarters on Wednesday, November 1, 2023.
In 2021, SpaceX’s starlink showed interest in entering Georgia, during a meeting with top government officials who met with the SpaceX team in Los Angeles.
A delegation from the country was led by the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Irakli Nadareishvili, and the Chairman of the Innovation and Technology Agency, Avtandil Kasradze.
Approval of SpaceX operating license in Georgia
The 2021 meeting between the firm and Georgia yielded a positive result, following the granting of operating license to SpaceX Starlink on July 14, 2022.
“Starlink is especially important and interesting in mountainous regions as well as in settlements without broadband internet coverage,” The Georgian National Communications Commission (ComCom) was quoted as saying in 2022.
