Recalled that WhatsApp stopped its support for Nokia Symbian S60 on June 30, 2017, while it added BlackBerry OS, BlackBerry 10 to its list of OS that will not be supported on December 31, 2017.
By December 31, 2018, Nokia S40 was added while iPhone running software older than iOS 7, Android device with version 2.3.7, and Windows Phone OS stopped getting support from WhatsApp since December 31, 2019. It also added iOS 7 and Android 2.3.7 on February 1, 2020
What does this mean?
Usually, the Meta-owned messaging app rolls out list phones that will not support WhatsApp. In its last update, it disclosed that it will be incompatible with Android phones that are running on Android 4.0.3 or lower, and Apple iPhones that are running on iOS 9 or older.
This means that users of smartphones with an old operating system will have to upgrade or be shut out of the messaging app.
Recalled that in 2019, WhatsApp stated that any phone running the Windows Mobile operating system will not be supported by the end of 2019. Here is the 2021 updated list of phones that will not be supported by WhatsApp
Recap:
At least 50 phones will no longer be supported by WhatsApp. It also means that future updates will no longer be available on the affected phones.
