The Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic and Research, of the International University of Equator (IUE), Burundi, Professor Austin Njiribeako Nosike, was born on March 23, 1972.
Before his present role at IUE, he was appointed by Copperstone University (CU), Zambia, as its Deputy Vice-Chancellor in February 2022.
Early Life and Education
Born in Emii, Owerri, Imo State, Professor Nosike hails from a respected family, being the son of Raphael Iwuamadi Nosike and Annastecia Onumaraekwu Nosike (née Nnodim).
He began his academic journey at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), where he earned a Bachelor of Science with honours in 1992. He went back to his alma mater for another degree in Society Studies, earning another B.Sc in 1996.
His pursuit of excellence did not end there; he went on to gain global exposure and specialized expertise.
Professor Nosike holds three Master’s degrees in Business Administration; Management, and Accounting & Finance from the Rivers State University of Science and Technology (1997), Universidad Católica de Murcia (UCAM) in Spain and Universidad Azteca, Mexico respectively.
His academic credentials further include graduate studies at several prestigious institutions: Centre for Social Studies (CSS) in Poland, University of Lancaster in the United Kingdom, Central European University (CEU) in Hungary, and the International Institute for Human Rights in France.
He subsequently earned a PhD in Economics from Central University of Nicaragua, Central America (Spanish: Universidad Central de Nicaragua) and a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) from Universidad Azteca, Chalco, Mexico.
Academic and Leadership Career
Professor Nosike’s academic career spans multiple continents and institutions.
In Nigeria, he held notable academic positions at Kaduna Polytechnic, the Nigerian Defense Academy as a visiting lecturer from 1994 to 1995, and Alvan Ikoku College of Education.
His expertise and leadership skills were further recognized internationally, leading to roles at the African Management Institute of the African Union Commission in Ethiopia.
