Want to link your National Identity Number to your MTN line? Here is the guide on how to connect your NIN to your MTN.
This is very important following the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) directives to telecommunication operators in Nigeria to block SIM cards that are not connected with NIN.
You only have two weeks to get this done unless you no longer want to use the line again. You WILL be blocked, says NCC.
To avoid blockage, MTN on its official Twitter page released a USSD code and URL on how their customers can easily link their line to their NIN as directed by the NCC.
If you’ve misplaced the printout of the NIN given to you by National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), there is an alternative to getting your 11-digit NIN, at no cost.
You can check our guide on how to link NIN to GLO phone number if a glo customer.

How to check your NIN using USSD code
1. Dial *346# from the phone number associated with your voter’s card, drivers licence, or BVN registration.
2. Press 1 to get your NIN
Note: It’s advisable to take a screenshot of the NIN before it disappears so that you don’t have to dial the code second time.
Your telecom provider charges N20 every time you dial *346#,
The good news…
The Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Ibrahim Pantami said he directed the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and the National Identity Management Commission to remove the N20 USSD fee imposed on subscribers for National Identification Number retrieval requests.
