A dethroned heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua will be raking in N21,750,000,000 ($60 million) from his rematch with Mexican WBO champion, Andy Ruiz Jr.
His rematch against the man who dethroned him will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2019 in Saudi Arabia.
UK’s Daily Star reported that the match would be the biggest payday in British boxing history.
Ruiz had beaten Joshua in Madison Square, US, in June, 2019 and won the WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight titles.
Though Joshua is not the reigning champion, he stands to take the lion’s share of what is reportedly a mammoth dual payout.
It’s reported that Joshua is guaranteed around $60m for his rematch with WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight champion Andy Ruiz Jnr in Saudi Arabia.
The figure will be further increased by revenue from Sky Sports Box Office with reportedly punters ready to cough up £24.95 to watch the blockbuster rematch.
Joshua’s previous biggest payday was the £18m he earned for the first fight with Ruiz Jr.
Meanwhile, Andy Ruiz Jr has boasted that he would beat AJ over again, even faster than the previous bout.
