Some towns in Osun State enjoy a stable power supply of 20 to 24 hours. Some locations can be found in areas such as Ogo-Oluwa, Oke-Baale, Dagbolu, Ikirun, OAU area of Ile-Ife, and some parts of Ilesa.

These locations are categorized under service Band A feeders, according to the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), following the hike in electricity tariff on Wednesday, April 3, 2024.

According to the regulatory body, there are five classifications of power supply consumers. They include A, B, C, D, and E.

Band A enjoys at least 20 hours of power supply; Band B enjoys not less than 16 hours; if you are enjoying at least 12 hours of electricity, it means you’re Band C; while D enjoys at least 8 hours, Band E enjoys the lowest, which is at least 4 hours (find the analysis in this post).

So, if you’re planning to relocate to Osun State and stable electricity is your top priority, here is the list of areas in Osun State that are on Band A feeders that enjoy between 20 to 24 hours of electricity per day:

Band A and B in Osun downgraded to lower band feeders

However, following discovery by consumers that there’s specific numbers of hours they should enjoy power supply, IBEDC has downgraded some of the band A feeders to B, C D or E to align with the current power supply they enjoy.

Gbongan Road 11kv Feeder: Gbongan-Ibadan Road (Downgraded to Band E with 0 hour power supply)

OSUTH 11KV Feeder, Off Ibokun Road (Downgraded to Band E with 0 hour power supply)

Note:

Being on service Band A feeder comes with a price tag. It means you will charged N225 per unit as against the N68 you were paying before the official announcement of the price change (you can check your energy consumption rate in our earlier article).

However, some customers claimed that the power supply distribution company managing Osun, Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) had implemented the price hike before the announcement by the power regulatory body.

Don’t be surprised that the town of the state governor, Ede, isn’t on the list. Ede and its environs might enjoy a stable power supply until the Transmission Company of Nigeria completes the electricity facility in the area.
