Trickster arrested for allegedly hypnotising woman, stealing thousands of Naira

The Nigerian police has arraigned a trickster, Nna Peter for allegedly hypnotising a business woman and stealing N540, 000 from her.

Peter was dragged to a Karmo Grade I Area Court in Abuja for the crime, and he was charged with two counts of joint act and cheating.

The accused resides in Jabi , Abuja, while  Ms Grace Joseph is based in Utako village. And according to the Police Counsel, Ijeoma Ukagha, she reported the issue at the Utako Police Station on March 25.

Ijeoma told the court that last year, Ms Grace boarded a taxi from Utako to Banex in Wuse II, and while in the cab, the defendant told her that he had some Brazilian hair weave-ons, Golden necklace and earrings for sale.

Peter was also said to have told the complainant that he needed some money to “wash” and print out mint Naira notes.

”The complainant told police that the defendant hypnotised her into giving him N540, 000 to but the chemical that would be used to wash the money.

”After collecting the money, the defendant ran to an unknown destination and converted the N540, 000 to his personal use,” Ukagha alleged.

According to her, the offence contravened the provisions of sections 79 and 322 of the Penal Code.

Giving his verdict, the Judge, Alhaji Inuwa Maiwada, admitted Peter to bail in the sum of N600, 000 with one surety in like sum, and adjourned hearing in the case until May 6.
