VIDEO: Thugs Loot Osun Mall, Set MDS Market On Fire Amid #EndSars in Osogbo

#EndSars protest went violence on Saturday, October 17, 2020 shortly after the convoy of the state governor Mr Gboyega Oyetola was attacked.

Suspected thugs who hijacked the protest looted the popular Osun Mall at Fakunle Area of Osogbo. The new mall houses many shops.

While that was going on, some thugs moved to another popular market in the state capital, MDS, post office area where they set shops on fire.

It was also gathered that some thugs tried to set a bank ATM ablaze in a bid to loot.

#EndSars is a movement in Nigeria which is aimed at putting an end to police brutality, ending impunity among other things, but some sponsored thugs are said to be hijacking the peaceful protest across the country.

Earlier in the day, some hoodlums attacked youths protesting against police brutality in the state. The thugs were armed with cutlasses, broken bottles and swords at Olaiya Junction in Osogbo.

It is the second time protesters would be attacked by hoodlums in Osogbo this week after the first on Thursday with many accusing the state government of sponsoring the attack.

The state governor through his spokesperson, Ismail Omipidan, immediately on Thursday, denied the government”s involvement in the attack, saying it’s ‘irrational’ to think that the government would sponsor thugs against peaceful protesters.
