November 2021 data showed that the United States has the highest volume of black Friday search with 21.2%, followed by Germany (12.9%), and Brazil (11%).
During the period, other stats by spendmenot says 88 million Americans made purchases online to enjoy some irresistible deals. Online stores raked in at least $8.9 billion in sales, thanks to the excited buyers.
The data doesn’t only show the popularity of Black Friday deals in the U.S, but it also indicates that residents are always excited because it is a time of the year when they are able to save more.
Narrowing the Black Friday search within the U.S territory, a report by New South Performance says the search is higher in some states than the others. New South Performance is an e-commerce site for car parts.
States with the Most Black Friday Google Search
Analyzing search activity over 30 days for eight terms by using data from Google Trends during the 2017 Black Friday, the e-commerce auto parts seller says residents in Alabama, West Virginia, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Louisiana search for Black Friday Deals more than other states.
Of course, there are stores in the Cotton State that are known over the years for celebrating the special day with their customers through rare deals.
The research also showed that many states in the Deep South of the U.S carried out higher searches.
Occupying the 6th position is Kentucky, followed by Oklahoma, and Delaware while Iowa and Missouri occupied the night and 10th position respectively.
Interestingly, none of the top 10 largest U.S states by a population made the top 10 U.S states that search for Black Friday Deals.
States with the Least Black Friday Deals Search
On the surface, one may likely conclude that California will have the most search in Black Friday Deals, but the opposite is the case as per New South Performance’s data collated from Google Trends during 2017 deals.
Using the search terms like Black Friday deals, Black Friday deals 2017, Black Friday sales, Black Friday sales 2017, Cyber Monday deals, Cyber Monday deals 2017, Cyber Monday sales, and Cyber Monday sales 2017, it was discovered that the most populous U.S state (California) occupied the 44 position with 46 points on a scale of 100, despite the state’s over 39 million residents.
On the bottom of the ranking are Vermont, Alaska, Montana, Oregon, Hawaii, New Hampshire, California, Rhode Island, Washington, and Massachusetts.
The position of California in this regard nonetheless doesn’t invalidate the popularity of some stores that are known for black Friday deals in the Golden State.
