A Nigerian female disc jockey Obianuju Catherine Udeh, popularly known as DJ Switch has revealed that her life is being threatened over some of the revelations on how soldiers killed more than 10 #EndSars protesters at Lekki tollgate on October 20
The female entertainer said she continued to receive death threats over her revelation on the shooting of unarmed #EndSARS protesters in Lagos.
DJ Switch in an interview with GQ a New York-based magazine had revealed the timeline of events at the popular Lagos tollgate and how soldiers opened fire on peaceful protesters.
“I have already been threatened”
The female DJ said:
“I have already been threatened. Of course, I’m frightened. I can’t even lie about that. I’m scared.”
She disclosed that some of her friends within the intelligence community warned her to stay off the street because she is seen as one of the faces of the protest.
“He called and said, ‘Please Switch, we actually need you to get away from the street because right now you have been marked as the face of that protest,”
#EndSars was a protest to end police brutality, bad governance, and put an end to impunity.
The protest received incredible support of young Nigerian entertainers, medical practicals, lawyers and others who are affected by poor governance in Nigeria.
DJ Switch and her colleagues chose strategic locations in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial city and across the country calling for a reform
The protest which started peacefully was hijacked by hoodlums who destroyed and looted private and government properties and the genuine endsars protesters ended the protest.
“I just hope I’m not going to die”
However, they said the struggle continues. They accused government officials of sponsoring thugs to discredit the #EndSars protest.
Some of them including DJ Switch have vowed not to backdown despite the intimidation by authorities.
“It doesn’t stop me from saying the truth. I’m still going to say it, and I just hope I’m not going to die,” she said.
How many people were killed at Lekki tollgate protest?
There are conflicting reports on the actual number of casualties after the shooting. Some of the witnesses said several people were gunned down by the military.

According to DJ Switch, at least 15 people were shot dead by the invading soldiers while several other sustained injuries.
